The Montessori House of Learning
Is Montessori for us?
Children all over the world have benefited from a Montessori education. Your child will as well.
You, as the parent, may sense that the time may be right for your child to commence experiences outside of home. Perhaps, You and your child may have already had some positive experiences away from each other. If you feel that your child is ready for new experiences, challenges, and friends then your child is ready to benefit and grow in the Montessori environment.
In a Montessori environment your child will develop a connectedness to a caring community, in which his/her individual developmental needs are met by the manipulative materials. Here she/he can learn at his/her own pace, Here he/she will gain independence, self-esteem, and respect for others. Childhood happens only once. A Montessori education ensures that your child will make the best of hers
The Method
While the method is now a hundred years old it still remains a modern approach to education as the foundation to the method is an in-exhaustive range of didactic equipment that enables the child to engage in learning experiences that are successful, building confidence and a love for learning. Its scientific technique has endured because its objective is timeless - Montessori education is an 'education for life'. Bound only by the limits of the child. It gives children a sense of belonging, fosters an attitude of respect for self, others and the environment. Nurturing trusting relationships and self worth.
The Montessori Method is an indirect teaching method because it neither imposes on a child nor does it abandon him in total free play, It provides a carefully planned and structured environment in which the child can grow and learn in a natural way with the best possible opportunities for reaching his or her maximum potential.
The Director
The need for such an environment was identified and envisioned during my search for such an environment for my own children. And Commenced operation in 1989, bringing together the stimulation of the Montessori philosophy and program in the atmosphere of a home environment. A student of the Montessori pre primary schooling system, I have always been drawn towards free learning. In 1979 I completed my training as a Montessori Pre Primary teacher and commenced my vocation with children I seek to make the Montessori Method available to all children and parents, encouraging an understanding and value of a peaceful happy society for all.

A Montessori Teacher
A well-trained Montessori teacher spends a lot of time during training practicing the many basic lessons with materials in all areas. She/he must pass difficult written and oral exams on these lessons in order to be certified. She is trained to recognize a child's readiness-according to age, ability, and interest-for a specific lesson, and is prepared to guide individual progress. Although the teacher plans lessons for each child for each day, she/he will bow to the interests of a child following a passion. The Montessori environment is a learning environment with the teacher playing the role of a facilitator.
